WINE NAME and STYLES PRODUCED:

  • Albana di Romagna Secco – White Still Dry
    • No specific ageing method requirements. Use of wood is acceptable.
    • Minimum alcohol 12%.
  • Albana di Romagna Amabile – Dessert White Still Lightly Sweet
    • No specific ageing method requirements. Use of wood is acceptable.
    • Minimum alcohol 12.5%.
    • Residual Sugar: 12 to 45 g/l
  • Albana di Romagna Dolce – Dessert White Still Sweet
    • No specific ageing method requirements. Use of wood is acceptable.
    • Minimum alcohol 8.5% + 4.0%.
    • Residual Sugar: 45 to 80 g/l
  • Albana di Romagna Passito – Dessert White Still Sweet
    • No specific ageing method requirements. Use of wood is acceptable. Most producers age this wine for minimum of 3 years before releasing it.
    • Minimum alcohol 12.5% + 4.5%.
    • Residual Sugar: minimum 284 g/l.
    • This style of wine is produced from dried grapes. Drying could be on vines or harvested grapes on mats and must be completed by March 30, year following the harvest. Noble Rot is permitted. Vinification must be completed by October 15, year following the harvest. Drying should result in 50% weight loss in grapes.
  • Albana di Romagna Passito Riserva – Dessert White Still Sweet
    • No specific ageing method requirements. Use of wood is acceptable. Most producers age this wine for minimum of 3 years before releasing it.
    • Minimum alcohol 11.0% + 13.0%.
    • Must Sugar at pressing: minimum 400 g/l.
    • This style of wine is produced from dried grapes. Drying could be on vines or harvested grapes on mats and must be completed by March 30, year following the harvest. Noble Rot is permitted. Vinification must be completed by October 15, year following the harvest. Drying should result in 50% weight loss in grapes.

Provincia di Ravenna: comuni di Castelbolognese, Riolo Terme, Faenza, Casola Valsenio, Brisighella. Comuni di Imola e Ozzano Emilia and 7 communes from the province of Bologna.
