GRAPE VARIETIES: Aglianico 85% minimum and up to 15% maximum of other red non aromatic grapes from the province of Avelino. Most commonly used grapes are: Piedirosso and Palagrello Nero

 

WINE NAME and STYLES PRODUCED:

  • Taurasi Rosso – Red Still
    • Minimum legal ageing: 3 years from the 1st of December following the grape harvest, 12 months of which in wood. Minimum alcohol 12.5%. Vineyard name can be included on a label.
  • Taurasi Rosso Riserva – Red Still
    • The term “Riserva” can be printed on the label. Minimum legal ageing: 4 years from the 1st of December following the grape harvest, 18 months of which in wood. Minimum alcohol 12.5%. Vineyard name can be included on a label.

 

PRODUCTION DISCIPLINES:

  • Yield - Maximum production per hectare: 10,000 kilos.

  • Communes: Grapes must come from the communes of: Bonito (AV), Castelfranci (AV), Castelvetere sul Calore (AV), Fontanarosa (AV), Lapio (AV), Luogosano (AV), Mirabella Eclano (AV), Montefalcione (AV), Montemarano (AV), Montemiletto (AV), Paternopoli (AV), Pietradefusi (AV), San Mango sul Calore (AV), Sant’Angelo all’Esca (AV), Taurasi (AV), Torre le Nocelle (AV), Venticano (AV).
